Energy Technologies and Management Graduate Program İzmir Field Visit

The 2017-2018 Academic Year Field Visit of the Sabancı Üniversitesi Energy Technologies and Management Graduate Program for Professionals (ETM) took place on May 12 and 13, 2018. During the visit to power plants in the İzmir area, participants were accompanied by program directors Umut Ekmekçi and Murat Kaya, and instructor Ömer Emre Orhan.

Participants visited the ENKA İzmir Natural Gas, Polat Enerji Kozbeyli Wind, Güriş Germencik Geothermal and Ensolar Enerji Tire Solar energy plants as well as the Ateş Çelik wind turbine pylon factory to gain firsthand knowledge of power plants that generate energy from various resources.

Participant also had the opportunity to witness the application of the theoretical knowledge they gained in class. Plant engineers discussed the building, operation and common issues of different power plants.
